Royal Winter Magic

With elaborate decorations, magical illuminations and a Christmas programme, Hohenzollern Castle awaits you for the Royal Winter Magic from 22 November 2024 to 6 January 2025.

The Royal Winter Magic is not a Christmas market, but a very elaborately designed special exhibition inside and outside the castle. Instead of stall charm and crowds, it offers a Christmas atmosphere in a historical setting. In the Count's Hall, a twelve-metre-long table will be on display with original service and silver from imperial stocks, flanked by a seven-metre-high Christmas tree. But the other chambers will also be enchantingly decorated. Visitors can explore them at will and let themselves be carried away into the Christmas world of royalty and majesties. There will also be an exhibition on the history of glass Christmas decorations in the Catholic castle chapel.

As dusk falls, the facades in the castle courtyard are regularly illuminated on a large scale. This is also where court juggler Klausi Klücklich lets shimmering soap bubbles rise into the night sky to the smell of mulled wine and waffles. Every now and then, St. Nicholas or his little helpers will drop by and the puppets will dance on Cinderella's marionette stage.

The castle's restaurant offers special Winter Magic Menus on advance booking and in the castle garden small groups can enjoy hearty treats in heated themed huts. In addition, Café Kira on the 3rd floor invites you to enjoy coffee and cake in a cosy living room atmosphere.

ENTRANCE FEES| TICKETS

Prices for online tickets | Box office prices

There are a limited number of online tickets per day that can be booked for a specific day with a specific one-hour admission time slot. This time slot is simply the time within which you must have your ticket scanned at the castle entrance gate and has nothing to do with the length of stay.

Please note that tickets will only be sold at the box office if remaining tickets are still available.
The box office is located in the parking lot store P1.
There are no tickets available at the castle entrance gate.

Both the online tickets and the box office tickets already include the parking and shuttle bus fee.

Experience shows that the Royal Winter Magic is booked up quickly, especially on weekends before 6 pm, due to the limited ticket contingents. We therefore recommend that you also consider visiting later in the evening or on weekdays.

GASTRONOMY
The castle's gastronomy invites to Christmas delicacies:

• In the Café Restaurant you are welcome to reserve a table to enjoy one of our winter menus.
• In the castle garden, winter-decorated and heated huts can be rented on site (reservation in advance not possible), where small groups of up to 6 people are served mulled wine and winter delicacies.
• In addition, Café Kira on the 3rd floor invites you to coffee & cake on a donation basis. The donations go to the Freundeskreis der Burg Hohenzollern e.V. and to the Kira Foundation.

The opening hours of the castle gastronomy during the time of the Royal Winter Magic are based on the above-mentioned opening hours of the Winter Magic. SHUTTLE BUS
The shuttle busses from HVB Wiest & Schürmann are on duty during the Royal Winter Magic from 14:45 hrs between parking lot P1 and the castle's entrance gate. The busses run approximately every 10 minutes. The last shuttle from the castle down to the parking lot is 30 minutes after the end of the Royal Magic of Advent in each case.
